House of stone

5th semester KADK

In collaboration with Anders Thøstesen

På et tomt site i Bath, mellem jernbanen, en indfaldsvej og
floden Avon, bygges et hus til musik.
Projektet er på én gang en undersøgelse af stenens potentiale
som nutidigt byggemateriale, og et forslag til en rumlig gestus
på det sted hvor stenen brydes.
Huset tegnes som et landskab, der kan indtages af musik i
mange former. En bygning der på samme tid er stædig i sin
form, men åben i sit program.

On an empty site in Bath, between the railway, an approach road and
the River Avon, a house for music is being built.
The project is both an exploration of the potential of stone
as a contemporary building material and a proposal for a spatial gesture on the site where the stone is quarried.
The house is designed as a landscape that can be occupied by music in
many forms. A building that is at the same time stubborn in its
form, but open in its program.
